This painting is my fourth landscape ever. I had so strong pressure in my mind to paint something, that I only got peace when I took my colors out from my closet. Painting is fun, but sometimes it’s difficult to start, especially with this painting, because of so many plants on the view. I need more practice with landscapes, but I’m happy I finally made this. I used my own photo as a model. Colors are not so pale in real painting, but it’s almost impossible to take a photo that shows real colors, they usually look too strong or too pale on photo.
This view is from North of Finland, where I was born. When I was a little girl, we had a home in this area by the sea. I have always been interested of architecture, especially of wooden houses and old residential areas, where the atmosphere is peaceful. Nowadays these kind of wooden houses are popular again and young people renovates them to a good condition. In 1970’s – 80’s many of this kind of areas were destroyed and concrete houses were built on those places instead. I think we need history around us among modern world.
First Snow covers the ground like a soft blanket.
I light a candle and drink a cup of hot chocolate.
This Sunday fills my heart.
Little watercolor paintings (2015) of our pets, who were our friends over 15 years.
Please leave me a little poem HERE
In Finnish language Northern Lights are ‘Revontulet‘ which means ‘fire of fox’. They are impressive because of their colors and because they move all the time. It feels very special moment when are able to see them. Usually they are visible in North of Finland at winter time. This painting was difficult for me to paint, but I have painted only two landscapes before this. Also I’m not very familiar with acryl colors yet, but painting is always fun.
In our galaxy there are about 200 milliard stars. It’s impossible to think, that we are alone in the space. At 30.th of August 2016 (20:45) SETI in Russia found a signal from space, which came from a star, which is 6,3 milliard years old. This star is 95 light-years far from our planet. If this signal came to us on purpose, there can be life on that planet and their civilization can be much higher than ours. It’s interesting, but it shouldn’t cause fear. If those possible aliens are wiser than human, they are not warlikes as human. Hollywood movies of space usually give scary picture of other civilizations, but movies are only imagination of film makers. The truth of space can be very different than movies and certainly beyond our imagination or knowledge. I think possible aliens maybe do not look like giant spiders, or other film maker’s creatures. Maybe they are pretty 🙂
These Northern Lights below are from Scotland, but similar as we can see here in Finland, mostly in Lapland. Nature is the best artist by all means. (it’s not my video)
Gorilla, wild animal painting number 3 for my grandchild.
I’m a big fan of big cats, so I was inspired by a photo of Jaguar on WWF magazine. I get the magazine, because I donate monthly to WWF, so this painting is for good cause, because I can tell about WWF. Everyone can suppport volunteer workers in WWF, who put their life on risk to protect endangered animals and nature. They have achieved results and saved many species on Earth. By donating only few coins monthly you and me can help those brave heroes.
This is not 100% similar picture as the photo is, I like to add something of my own into painting. We don’t see these cats here in Finland, so the only way to get a ‘model’ is to look at some photo. I don’t sell this painting, so this model was used only for non-commercial use.
I love big cats because of their beautiful colors, because of their big and deep voices, because of their movements and good shape. At the same time they look so cute, but also dangerous and it’s a ravishing combination for me. Jaguars have flower patterns in their back, what a beautiful outfit it is for summertime.
